Teaching writing has to be one of the most challenging jobs out there -- and I'm not tooting my own horn here; I'm being honest. In the day & age of computers, video-games, and fantasy football, there isn't much room for old fashioned creativity. Therefore, teaching writing is about more then commas & semicolons.  It's about ripping out the pop-culture feeding tube & tapping into the innate creative spirit we are all born with.

It doesn't matter where, or how, the human spirit yearns for a creative outlet. However, society encourages us to shed our uniqueness for a look-the-same, act-the-same, fit-in exterior.  Idea Weather is here to help the would-be creative genius unlock those pent up desires.

The exercises & prompts on Idea Weather are little matches created to ignite creative energy. Let your own brain & creative powers stoke the fire.  You can do it!  My general recommendations are to follow the directions of the prompt in a quiet & enjoyable setting. If there are no speific directions from the prompt, take the ideas & begin a free-write or cluster brainstroming frenzy!

If you are happy with your end result, share it with us!  Likewise, if you have ideas about writing that you think fellow writers would enjoy, e-mail me & my tiny crew: editor@ideaweather.com .

If you would like your work to be considered for posting through StormyPress, please e-mail as an attached word document to editor@ideaweather.com. The editing team at StormyPress reviews manuscripts daily for weekly postings on Idea Weather.
